Commercial Accountant/SAP Finance SME

The Commercial Accountant role will be responsible for value-add financial reporting and commercial business support. This role will also function as SAP Finance SME to provide continuous process and data improvement, maintenance of the system, integrations, service triage and exploring opportunities that arise from the roadmap.

The successful candidate will be involved in the full life cycle implementation of greenfield SAP S/4HANA project focusing on Finance end to end processes in an international, multicurrency business. This will involve working with SAP Business Partner and IGS functional teams on systems configuration, data migration and end to end user acceptance testing.

This role will take direction from the ERP Project Manager during project phase one implementation to go-live.

Key responsibilities include:

Ongoing:

-Utilize existing systems and SAP S/4HANA Cloud to perform financial reporting and analysis for commercial relationships
-Undertake month-end and year-end closing activities related to business unit performance
-Continuously monitor and analyse business unit financial performance, cost structures, and profitability
-Support compliance, audits, and financial controls
-Ensure smooth system performance, process automation, and continuous improvement in SAP FICO
-Act as the first point of contact for SAP FICO system enhancements, troubleshooting, and user support
-Collaborate with IS and finance teams to optimize SAP functionalities for evolving business needs

Specific to SAP Project:

-Lead the end-to-end SAP S/4HANA Cloud FICO implementation, ensuring alignment with business requirements
-Collaborate with business stakeholders to define and document financial processes, ensuring system optimisation
-Perform functional configuration tasks for the SAP Finance modules
-Conduct data migration, validation, and reconciliation to ensure accurate transition to SAP
-Determining how to integrate SAP software programs to enhance targeted business processes
-Providing SAP end-user training and support
-Documenting SAP processes and preparing progress reports
-Develop test scenarios, scripts, and conduct UAT (User Acceptance Testing)

Skills and Experience:

-Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
-Professional accounting qualification (CA, CIMA, ACCA) is preferred
-Minimum 2+ years of experience in SAP FICO implementation and commercial finance
-Hands-on experience in SAP S/4HANA Cloud FICO configuration, testing, and deployment preferred
-Strong understanding of financial accounting principles, IFRS, and cost control
-Experience with data migration, integration, and SAP reporting tools (Fiori, SAC, BW, etc.) preferred
-Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
-Superb collaboration and communication skills and happy to engage stakeholders and present data in a simple and effective way
-Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
-Excellent organisational and time management skills
-Ability to work cross-functionally, in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
