Driven by shifts in eating habits, population growth, climate change, and failing soils, our food and agriculture industry faces moonshot sized challenges. We founded AgFunder in 2013 because we believe that venture capital and innovation are our most powerful tools to effect rapid change in our global food and agriculture system. We believe that focused investment, particularly at the early stage, can both provide outsized returns for our investors and empowers a more sustainable, nutritious, and accessible food system for everyone.
We’ve built AgFunder as a platform to scalably educate investors, entrepreneurs, and industry incumbents to the challenges and opportunities in our food and agriculture system, and to be a trusted and accessible channel to invest in the future of food and ag.
Through AgFunderNews and our research reports we have created a global brand with over 75,000 subscribers. With our knowledge base of nearly 30,000 foodtech and agtech startups our we help some of the world’s largest food and agriculture corporations navigate the innovation landscape. Through our venture capital funds we have become one of the most active venture capital investors in the industry.
Based in Silicon Valley, we've invested alongside other top VCs including Acre Venture Partners, Breakout Ventures, Cultivian, Data Collective, Felicis Ventures, Fifty Years, Horizons Ventures, S2G, Tiger Global, TPG, True Ventures, WTI, and 8VC. We focus on Seed to Series B stage startups across the agtech and foodtech value chain. Our early portfolios are tracking 23%+ IRR and over 75% of rounds we participated in were oversubscribed.
Periodically we open up a new fund to accept new investors. If you’d like to join us in our next fund, please fill out the survey below and our investment team will get back to you. Minimum investment starts at $250,000. Institutional Investors can contact us directly at funds@agfunder.com.
