Lab Operations Specialist

We’re looking for a Lab Operations Specialist to join our awesome team.

Your experience in life science labs will make you an essential member of our Lab Operations team. Working alongside a brilliant group of scientists, engineers and specialists, you will help Hoxton Farms operate London’s first cultivated fat production facility.

At every step, you will play a huge role in shaping the future of food.

This is a full-time, onsite role in Central London. Unfortunately, we cannot offer visa sponsorship for this position.

As a Lab Operations Specialist, you will join our Lab Operations team to ensure the seamless day-to-day running of all the R&D operations at Hoxton Farms. You’ll take ownership of making our lab the best it can be by focusing on routine laboratory support, inventory management, equipment maintenance and facilities maintenance. Your attention to detail, reliability and talent for collaboration will make you a critical member of our team.

You should have:

• At least 1 year of experience working in a laboratory environment within academia or industry
• An undergraduate degree (or equivalent experience in industry) in life sciences
• Knowledge of good laboratory practice and aseptic techniques
• Enthusiasm, curiosity and attention to detail

   

Ideally you’ll have experience in some, but not necessarily all, of the following areas:

• Lab equipment setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance
• General laboratory housekeeping
• Environmental monitoring (e.g., sampling, identification, analysis)
• Reagent preparation
• Tissue culture techniques
• Working within a GMP/regulated environment
• Quality assurance (e.g., material specifications, CoAs, batch records)
• Health & Safety protocols
• Writing and following SOPs
