AI Researcher (All genders)

We are seeking an exceptional AI Researcher to join our Data & AI department and contribute to develop large-scale generative models to unleash bacteriophage power.

The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, developing and validating advanced software platforms for de-novo phage design effective against target bacterial strains.

🧩 Main Responsibilities

* Develop state-of-the-art deep learning models for phage-host interaction predictions and de-novo phage genomes design.

* Partner with teammates in Data&AI and Bioinfo Team to identify key challenges and design innovative, AI-driven solutions.

* Analyze validation results in collaboration with the WetLab Team to iteratively improve design and evaluation strategies.

Preferred experience

* PhD (or evidence of equivalent level of expertise) in Computer Science, Computational Biology, or a related technical field,

* Minimum 1 year of XP (if relevant Phd), if not at least 2 years of experience in relevant field,

* Strong research background with a proven track record working at the intersection of AI and Biology,

* Experience working with large public data repositories, including genomics, proteomics or transcriptomics data,

* Fluency in Python and Pytorch,

* Comfortable in developing, implementing, and debugging deep learning models with an interest for popular ML architectures (e..g generative models, diffusion models, transformers, state-space models),

* Good theoretical foundation (probabilistic models, statistics, linear algebra) with experience building models from scratch.
