We are seeking a Plantation Specialist/ Horticulturist experienced in high density plantations to support the establishment and management of ultra high density plantations (1,100–2,500trees/ha) under an ARR (Afforestation, Reforestation, and Revegetation) project in Bangladesh.

The role will focus on technical planning, plantation establishment, orchard management and farmer capacity building.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and oversee UHDP plantation establishment protocols.

* Provide technical guidance on orchard layout, pit digging, planting, pruning, canopy
management, irrigation, fertigation and nutrient management.

* Support selection of suitable varieties, rootstocks and quality planting material.

* Conduct training programs for field staff and farmers on UHDP best practices.

* Monitor post plantation performance, survival and growth.

* Prepare technical reports and recommendations to improve plantation outcomes.

* Support project activities related to biomass growth and carbon sequestration objectives.

Required Qualifications

* Master’s Degree in Pomology/Horticulture is preferred

* Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Forestry, Agriculture, Agronomy or related field.

* Experience in commercial fruit cultivation.

* Hands-on experience with high density and ultra high density plantations.

* Strong knowledge of pruning, canopy management, fertigation, irrigation and pest and
disease management.

* Experience working with farmer based plantation programs is preferred.
