Summary

Cellular Agriculture Ltd. was the first UK startup focused on cultivated protein, specifically cell-based meat. The company develops bioreactor technology to enable a scalable, sustainable production of cultured meat, fish, shellfish, insects, and milk. In 2018, with InnovateUK funding, it created a proof-of-concept bioreactor system, publicly displayed at Nemo Science Museum in Amsterdam in 2019—the first automated cultured meat system demonstrated worldwide.
